Ephesians 4:17

Now this I affirm and insist on in the Lord: you must no longer live as the Gentiles live, in the futility of their minds

The Greek word for repentance is ´ metanoia´ which means a change of mind, a reorientation, a fundamental transformation of outlook, and a new way of loving others and God. This is what Paul is telling the church in Ephesus. They should leave their old sinful ways of living and live a life of purity. As Christians, we need to be mindful of the way we act, think, and speak. Many of us profess to have received Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior but we continue to live our old sinful ways. We are so comfortable with our sinful ways of living and we find it difficult to give up our old selves. We lip sing our faith and it is not embodied in our lives. This is the situation that Paul is addressing. Our profession of faith should be testified by the ways we speak, walk, and do business.

Takeaways for Today are: 1. Faith in Christ demands a radical change of lifestyle. 2. Our Christian faith should be embodied in all our spheres of life. 3. When born again we become new creatures and we should give up the old sinful ways this is the only way this world may be transformed.
