Daily Devotion

Psalm 2:5-6

Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying,   I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.

In verse 4, we learn that God laughs at those who plot against Him and His anointed but that does not mean that he remains inactive. In today´s verses, we learn that God will speak in anger at the appropriate time. Speaking in anger means that he will severely rebuke the evildoers not only through his prophets and words but also through dreadful judgments as well. He is a patient God who waits for us to realize our faults and repent but when we remain adamant He corrects us by His holy anger.

Two takeaways for today are; 1. God gives us time to repent of our sins. His joy is in saving us rather than punishing us. 2. He acts in anger to correct the unrepented people at the appropriate time. Therefore, we need to repent of sinful ways for us to inherit eternal life
