Philemon 1.22-25

One thing more-prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping through your prayers to be restored to you. Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends greetings to you, and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit

Today we come to the end of our series of devotions on the letter to Philemon. Paul has finished his negotiation with great anticipation that it will yield positive results and now is looking forward to the next visit. Paul is a man of faith because though in prison and facing a possible death sentence he remains hopeful that he will come back to continue with his ministry. This is what happens when there is something that you are passionate about, it preoccupies your plans even when the facts on the ground are going the other direction. Therefore, he is already asking Philemon to prepare a guest room for him and this is further testimony to their cordial relationship.

He ends his letter with his signature style of greeting colleagues in ministry and asks for God´s grace. Two takeaways for today are 1. We need to remain hopeful regardless of a bad situation. 2. Always acknowledge colleagues in ministry and be a team player.
